This fall, Calhoun Community College launched the new, fully online Medical Billing Certificate Program. The decision to create this program was made in response to the growing demand for professionals in the medical billing industry.
The Decatur campus houses all of Calhoun’s health programs and a majority of the technology programs. The city of Decatur is also known for its advanced healthcare services, so it made sense to base the online medical billing program here. That way there is local support when needed.
The program is designed to be completed in two semesters and includes prep for the Medical Billing Certificate and the Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist credentials. The online program offers students the flexibility they may need to complete such a program. It also prepares them for a well-paying career in a high-demand market within nine months.
